The main event of Fight Night 104 from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas marked the return of ‘The Korean Zombie’ Chan Sung Jung to the Octagon after more than 3 years of absence. His last fight was for the featherweight title against Jose Aldo in August of 2013. The man in charge of welcoming back Jung was #9 ranked featherweight Dennis Bermudez.
Jung seemed to be struggling with some ‘ring rust’ early in the first round as he was unable to dodge some shots and ended up taking a couple knees and punches from the clinch. Only seconds later Jung showed that he worked in his takedown defense during his hiatus, but Bermudez followed the attempts with good combinations.
A right overhand landed on Jung’s chin and made him wobbly. However Jung managed to get Bermudez to clinch and he recovered. The scare woke Jung up from his 3-year hibernation and he went into destruction mode. He began challenging Bermudes to brawl and just a few seconds later he landed a devastating right uppercut that sent Dennis to the ground, knocked out.
