The first visit of the UFC to Madison Square Garden for UFC 205 was a one in a lifetime opportunity for the new prodigal son. Conor McGregor had a chance that was denied to other fighters in the past. A victory would see him become the first fighter in UFC history to simultaneously hold 2 belts at different divisions.
The Irish star would not let the opportunity go to waste as he annihilated a cartoon version of the Eddie Alvarez that trashed Rafael Dos Anjos in July.

The first round was a taste of what was yet to come. McGregor dropped Eddie twice, and he did so with ease. Keeping his distance and maintaining his cool
McGregor looked clinical. He waited for his opportunity and was in no rush to get the job done. He knocked down Alvarez twice in the first round, but wasn’t eager to go for the finish.
