#1 UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov sat down for an interview on Russian television to explain how fighter’s income in the UFC is paid and the conditions behind all of it. Skill-wise, Nurmagodov is among the top fighters in the UFC, but he definitely does not make the most money in the UFC by far.
UFC lightweight champion and big time superstar Conor McGregor has changed the game when it comes to fighter income. McGregor was the first fighter to receive a flat salary of 1 million dollars and it has only gone up quite a bit since that time. Nate Diaz became a millionaire for fighting McGregor and now quite a bit of fighters ranging all the way from 125-185 are calling McGregor out because they want to be a millionaire also.
Nurmagomedov is set to face Tony Ferguson at UFC 209 for the UFC interim lightweight championship. The winner of that fight will likely face Conor McGregor. On the next page, Nurmagomedov explains how much money he makes and other fighters make in the UFC.
