Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Karolina Kowalkiewicz were at the UFC 205 Pre-Fight Press Conference in New York. During the staredowns, it got so heated between Jedrzejczyk and Kowalkiewicz to the point where they were ready to fight on stage.
Dana White got between the two strawweights and was telling each of them “stay back” not to fight on stage. It was not only once, but quite a few times. Jedrzejczyk and Kowalkiewicz were yelling at each other in Polish and they were on the brink of throwing strikes.
Neither Jedrzejczyk or Kowalkiewicz were ready to back down to each other and they wanted to make a point about it. This should be a great championship fight that we will see Saturday night.
Both of these fighters are great stand-up fighters, but Jedrzejczyk is a Muay Thai champion. Jedrzejczyk and Kowalkiewicz faced each other in an amateur bout in 2012 and Jedrzejczyk won the contest. Kowalkiewicz has been waiting for this fight a long time and here are her direct words:
“I hope I fight with Joanna in New York. She always talk that I am not on her level. I fight with her and I hope now I show everybody that I can fight with her. I am ready and I hope she is ready for me.”
