Tony ‘El Cucuy’ Ferguson received terrible news a few hours ago, as his opponent for the interim lightweight title, Khabib ‘The Eagle’ Nurmagomedov had to be pulled from the fight due to medical suggestions after having problems to make championship weight.
Surprisingly, Ferguson left the trash talk aside and sent a heartfelt message to Nurmagomedov on Twitter.
Immediatly after Nurmagomedov’s absence was made official, the UFC began looking for a late replacement who could step in for the Russian. According to reliable sources there were two candidates in mind: Nate Diaz and Michael Johnson.
