Robert Whittaker is one of the fastest rising stars in the UFC. Since losing to Stephen Thompson in 2014, he is on a 6-fight winning streak and looked amazing tonight as he was able to take out Derek Brunson with a headkick and punches.
Whittaker was the winner of ‘The Smashes’ Ultimate Fighter show as Australia took on the UK. Whittaker seemed to be the most devastating striker in the house and he proved it. He has looked even more amazing since he has moved up to middleweight and seems to be in championship form. Middleweight champion Michael Bisping better keep an eye out for Whittaker from this point on.
Bisping vs Yoel Romero is currently in the works to be scheduled, but Whittaker makes his case for a title shot. Whittaker should be scheduled against a contender like Jacare Souza or maybe even Gegard Mousasi. The middleweight division felt as if it was clogged up because of the Dan Henderson fight. A lot of fighters did not feel like Dan Henderson deserved the shot against Bisping.
As shown below in the video, Whittaker looks as if he is in championship form. He was able to get through the barrage of punches that Brunson fired at him and was able to fire back even better and more precisely to take out Brunson. Whittaker’s kicks are pretty amazing and powerful.

It will be interesting to see who the UFC lines Whittaker up against next. Whittaker is only 25 years of age and continues to do better ever fight. He has to be in a title eliminator soon with the winning streak that he is on.
From this point on, it will be up to the UFC about what the decide to do with Whittaker.
