Mario Yamasaki Admits Late Stoppage On Browne-Lewis But Would Do It Again

The main event of UFC Fight Night 105 featured two hard-swinging heavyweights as Travis Browne battled Derrick Lewis in a bout full of action that came to an end when Browne was knocked out and Mario Yamasaki stopped the fight, according to the opinion of many, a little late.

Derrick Lewis himself was among those who think the fight could have finished moments earlier, as he even thanked Yamasaki for allowing to land a couple extra shots on his opponent.

“I appreciate it. Where [Yamasaki] at? I appreciate it, I appreciated him letting the fight go a little longer than what it should. I just wanted to get my anger out on Travis’ face because he likes to hit on women. So I appreciate him for doing that. I keep it real.”

Two days after the UFC Fight Night 105 main event, Yamasaki, who hasn’t watched the fight yet after traveling back to Brazil, admits that he made a mistake.

Although Yamasaki accepted the fight could have been stopped instants before and spare Browne a few unnecessary shots to the face, he also believes Travis would have wanted it that way.
