Russian lightweight and UFC’s number-one contender, Khabib Nurmagomedov (24-0) wants to fight the current champion Conor McGregor. His latest move was to send McGregor a direct message on Twitter .
Khabib has been very vocal about what he believes is a well-deserved shot at the belt. He had asked for the fight even before McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez. Even while he was demolishing Michael Johnson at UFC 205, he kept screaming at Dana White in between rounds to give him what he wants.
However, it looks like Conor McGregor will be taking a break due to the birth of his first child. Khabib wants to make sure he gets the fight no matter how long he has to wait for it. His manager, Ali Abdel-Aziz recently mentioned on the MMA Hour that Nurmagomedov had sent McGregor a direct message on Twitter to try and convince him to step into the cage with him.
“He sent him a direct message on Twitter yesterday and he sent me a copy of it. It was very, very funny. He said he’s a champion now, but he ‘needs to die like a Samurai. Irish people have fought for a long time. You live and die like men. Let me kill you, don’t die like a coward’. It was very funny.”
As we all know, the only way you can send a direct message to someone on Twitter is if they actually follow you. To that, Abdel-Aziz said: “They follow each other on Twitter, I did not know that.”
Many skeptical people were surprised, the message was real and Khabib shared it with the world on Wednesday. ‘The Eagle’ doesn’t play games.
Here’s the message
