Joe Rogan has been with the UFC since 1997 and has been the color commentator since 2002. And since 2009 Joe has been on one of the most respected MMA podcasts, “The Joe Rogan Experience”.
After the departure of long-time partner Mike Goldberg at the end of 2016, rumors have appeared regarding the future of Joe in the UFC. Particularly considering the fact that Joe himself has opened the door to speculation.
In June of last year when rumors about a potential sale of the UFC first came out, Joe Rogan told Ariel Helwani his contract was up in August and wasn’t sure what was going to happen. When asked if he would stay if the company was sold he was very clear and said he was 100% he wuold leave if that happened.
In the end, he ended up signing a one-year extension but now that his partner for many years has been released things might be different next August.
“I will stay in contact with Mike (Goldberg) until the day I die. Mike is my friend and the UFC was sold to WME. They have their own thoughts on what they want to do. I will be friends with Mike Goldberg until the day I die. I love that guy.”
