It has stopped being a surprise to see fighters get axed from the UFC every week. The new administration has a different perspective on how to conduct business and they have shown more than once that they clearly believe that sometimes less is more.
As the UFC updated its roster over the weekend, nineteen names disappeared from the lists. While some of them are not exactly breaking news, considering they have been announced before, like former flyweight title contender Kyoji Horiguchi who will be taking his talent to Rizin FF, or former strawweight title contender Valerie Letourneau who announced she was leaving the UFC last month.
In the recent list of fighters officially removed from the roster there’s even a TUF Latin America champion, Erick Montano, who won the welterweight tournament but failed to leave an impression in the promotion and now follows the steps of his older brother Augusto, who was cut earlier this year.
