The return of Georges St-Pierre to the octagon is more than confirmed. What remains to be revealed are his opponent and the date for the fight. Many rumors and theories are circulating and there are 2 that sound more realistic.
The first one is an immediate title shot against the winner of Tyron Woodley vs Stephen Thompson 2, assuming of course that whoever wins does so in a dominant form so that no claims for a rematch can be made. Although if Thompson is the winner it sounds logical that Woodley would call for a trilogy fight. Would it be fair for the division if GSP gets the next title shot? Maybe not, particularly if you’re Demian Maia, but after all, GSP was the champion and had defended the belt 9 times before deciding to take a break.
The second option would also involve a belt, the middleweight belt in possession of Michael Bisping, who is looking for a money fight and also, trying to duck Yoel Romero.
But, there is a third option, Dana White himself presents the option.
