A bout between Jose Aldo and Max Holloway has been brewing for a while and it has now been confirmed by Dana White that it is official. White recently mentioned this to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto. This will happen on June 3rd of this year and it will determine the UFC undisputed featherweight champion. It will likely be the headliner for UFC 212.
Max Holloway is on an insane winning streak in the UFC featherweight division and was the first person to stop Anthony Pettis when Holloway won the interim belt at UFC 206. The only person that Jose Aldo has lost to in 11 years is Conor McGregor and Aldo vows to eventually get that rematch. The last person that Holloway lost to was McGregor as well. Since that time, Holloway has improved immensely and is one of the top p4p fighters in the world.
It will be very exciting to see Aldo and Holloway finally face each other. It is certain that the winner of this fight will call out McGregor.
