Many people believe the perfect scenario for the UFC after UFC 208 looked something like this: Fan-favorite Holly Holm beats Germaine de Randamie and calls out Cris Cyborg who then gets in the Octagon exchanges words with Holly and just like that, the promotion for the biggest female fight in the UFC in 2017 would have begun.
Unfortunately for the UFC nothing went according to plans and to make matters worst there was controversy which could be escalating to a level in which the belt becomes vacant and de Randamie and Holm have to fight again (hopefully a less boring bout as they would probably be out to prove something).
After de Randamie ducked Cris Cyborg, she turned to social media to call out Megan Anderson, the interim champion of the featherweight division for Invicta FC, but the Australian was quick to respond the Brazilian’s tweet and that didn’t sit well with Cyborg.
Dana states Cris fights GDR next & she needs time to sort USADA deal out. I want to stay active & fight ladies who are cleared to fight now https://t.co/dO0xPGYPpr
