Cain Velasquez Might Have Opponent And Date For His Return To The Octagon

The former two-time champion of the heavyweight division of the UFC, Cain Velasquez, has been battling injuries for almost two years. The last time he was seen inside the UFC octagon was in July of 2016 when he destroyed Travis Browne.

Since then, he was scheduled to fight Fabricio Werdum at UFC 207 but ended up being pulled from the card under unusual circumstances. The fighter claimed he was cleared by the doctors and the Nevada State Athletic Comission twice, but just a few minutes later he found out in the media that he was out of the card. His theory is he wasn’t cleared due to the fact that he mentioned in an interview a few days before that he was having back issues related to his sciatic nerve and he also indicated he was treating it with a Cannabidiol oral spray.

“I firmly believe that my team and I did everything within our power to get me to UFC 207. Finally, I want to say that perhaps I was too transparent in my interview but that is who I am and do not intend to edit myself and especially not when my doctors and I know for a fact that I’m ready to fight”

Well, all that is water under the bridge as Cain is getting ready to return to action.
