The fight for the inaugural female featherweight championship of the UFC at UFC 208 in Brooklyn last week has given a lot to talk about. From the ‘susprise’ winner for many, the controversy of the late punches, and the fact that de Randamie was quick to duck Cris Cyborg claiming she needs surgery on her hand.
Yesterday de Randamie offered Holly Holm a rematch because of all the controversy, Holm didn’t respond, although she had said on Saturday that she wanted an immediate rematch. Well, today Holly decided she doesn’t want the rematch, she wants the loss gone from her record.
The former bantamweight champion has filed a complaint against referee Todd Anderson and an appeal of the result, which could mean that the result of the fight changes to a no contest, leaving the belt in the air and requiring Holm and de Randamie to meet inside the cage a second time.
