On Thursday, Chael Sonnen spoke about his Bellator debut and all the allegations regarding his fight with Tito Ortiz. A fight that many fans -as well as some MMA professionals- considered to be fixed, or at the very least claimed some things looked fishy.
During the main event of Bellator 170, Sonnen was submitted by Tito with a rear-naked choke that for many people wasn’t even tight. Sonnen was on the Luke Thomas’ radio show and this is what the ‘American Gangster’ had to say about his defeat and the controversial submission:
“I couldn’t breathe, I didn’t respect it when it went on. I thought we were going to get into a scramble and I was going to come out on top, but I was stuck. It’s really hard to give up your back. If you give up your back early in the first round, before you get that sweat going, it’s just a tough spot.”
